Lord Rama Aarti (Prayer)
श्री रामचन्द्र कृपालु भजु मन हरण भव भय दारुणं।
Shri Ramchandra Kripaalu Bhaju Man Haran Bhav Bhay Daarunam;
नव कंज-लोचन कंज-मुख कर कंज पद कंजारुणम्।।
Nav Kanjalochan, Kanj Mukha, Kar Kanj, Pad Kanjarunam.
Meaning: O Lord Ram, the compassionate one, I worship you, the remover of the fears of life and death;
Your eyes are like blooming lotuses, your face is beautiful like a lotus, your hands are lotus-like, and your feet are red like a lotus.
कन्दर्प अगणित अमित छवि नव नील-नीरद सुन्दरम्।
Kandarp Aganit Amit Chhabi Navneel-Nirad Sundaram;
पट पीत मानहु तडित रूचि शुचि नौमि जनक सुतावरम्।।
Pat Peet Manahu Tadit Ruchi Shuchi Naumi Janak Sutavaram.
Meaning: You possess an infinite and beautiful form, like a newly formed blue cloud;
He wears yellow robes, which shine like lightning. I bow to Lord Ram, the husband of Sita, the daughter of King Janak.
भजु दीनबन्धु दिनेश दानव-दैत्यवंश-निकन्दनम्।
Bhaju Deenabandhu Dinesh Daanava-Daitya-Vansha-Nikandanam;
रघुनन्द आनन्द कन्द कोसल-चन्द्र दशरथ-नन्दनम्।।
Raghunand Anandkand Kaushalchand Dasharath-Nandanam.
Meaning: I worship you, friend of the needy, destroyer of demons and evil beings;
you are the blissful son of the Raghu dynasty, son of Kausalya and Dasharatha.
सिर मुकुट कुंडल तिलक चारु उदार अंग विभूषणम्।
Sir Mukut Kundal Tilak Charu Udaar Anga Vibhooshanam;
आजानुभुज शर-चाप-धर संग्राम जित खर-दूषणम्।।
Ajaanubhuj Shar-Chaap-Dhar Sangraam Jit Khara-Dooshanam.
Meaning: With a crown on your head and adorned with earrings and tilak, your body is beautifully decorated;
Holding a bow and arrow, you have defeated demons Khar and Dushan in battle.
इति वदति तुलसीदास शंकर शेष मुनि मन रंजनम्।
Iti Vadati Tulsidas Shankar-Shesh-Muni-Man Ranjanam;
मम हृदय कंज निवास कुरु कामादि खल-दल-गंजनम्।।
Mama Hriday Kanja Nivaasa Kuru Kaamadi Khal-Dal-Ganjanam.
Meaning: Thus says Tulsidas, who pleases the hearts of Lord Shiva, Sheshnag, and the sages;
Please reside in my heart to destroy my lust and worldly desires.
मनु जाहि राच्यो मिलहि सो बरु सहज सुंदर साँवरो।
Manu Jaahi Raachyo Milahi So Baru Sahaj Sundar Saanvaro;
करुणा निधान सुजान शील सनेह जानत रावरो।।
Karuna Nidhaan Sujaan Sheel Saneh Jaanat Raavaro.
Meaning: The one whom the mind deeply loves will find this naturally beautiful, dark-complexioned Lord;
He (Lord Ram) is a treasure of mercy, wise, full of good character, and knows the affection of his devotees.
एहि भांति गौरी असीस सुनि सिय सहित हिय हरषित अली।
Ehi Bhaanti Gauri Asees Suni Siya Sahit Hiy Harshit Alee;
तुलसी भवानिहि पूजि पुनि-पुनि मुदित मन मंदिर चली।।
Tulsi Bhawani Pooji Punee-Punee Mudit Mana Mandir Chali.
Meaning: Just as Goddess Parvati gave her blessings to Devi Sita, hearing this, Sita's heart was filled with joy;
Tulsidas says, worship Lord Ram again and again, and with a joyous heart, proceed to your heart's temple.
